Pat McMenamin for 4th Ward Commissioner

Meet Pat McMenamin, candidate for Commissioner in the 4th Ward of Ridley Township.

Pat has lived in the Township for 33 years. A native of Yeadon Borough, Pat attended Yeadon High School and moved to Ridley in 1988. Although he's proud of his Yeadon roots, Pat epitomizes the spirit of community service and the pride of Ridley Township.

Pat is a Product Support Engineer with SEI Investments in Oaks, Pennsylvania. He's been with SEI for 37 years; committed to helping to create innovative wealth management solutions for professional wealth managers, institutional investors, investment management firms, and private investors.

A true community servant, Pat is President of Kedron Youth Association. He has coached Kedron sports for 27 years, Our Lady of Fatima CYO basketball, and Ridley Township Spring and Summer basketball league. "Volunteering and being a coach is a great way to enrich the lives of your children and other young people in our community," Pat said. "As a coach, you're a mentor to a whole team of young people, teaching skills and creating memories that will stay with these kids for a lifetime." Pat is also active in Ridley High School's basketball and field hockey booster programs.

Pat McMenamin walks the talk and is committed to all residents of Ridley Township -- especially our senior population. As an active Board member for Schoolhouse Senior Center, a Senior Community Services location, Pat proudly supports ongoing efforts to empower older adults and their caregivers to live life to the fullest potential. "We're proud to have Schoolhouse Center right here in Ridley Township," he said. "They are an exceptional resource, offering a broad array of services for senior citizens throughout Delaware County."

When asked about a community project, program, or accomplishment he's particularly proud of, Pat shared: "Being able to work with the children of Ridley through my involvement in the various youth organizations," he said. "Not only teaching the fundamentals of the game but fostering teamwork, sportsmanship and instilling valuable life lessons experienced through team participation."

His favorite local small business? Pat can't just pick one! "Local businesses are owned by our friends and neighbors and are at the heart of our community," he said. "My family and I make every effort to frequent local mom-and-pop shops over big retail."

Pat enjoys spending time with his wife and high school sweetheart, Christine. The two have been married for 35 years and are the proud parents of four children -- Patrick, Elena, Philip, and Michael. Pat and Christine officially welcomed their wonderful daughter-in-law Nicole into the family recently. She and their son Patrick got married in August. When he's not spending time with family, Pat also enjoys playing pinochle and fitting in a round of golf.

We asked Pat for a "fun fact" that most people may not know about him: "I was Prom King senior year in high school," he said. "I was always very sociable and actively involved in projects and events."

Finally, what makes Pat pRoud to be from Ridley? "What makes me proud to be from Ridley are the people who live here. Ridley is a diverse community of hard-working individuals who are always willing to go the extra mile to help others."
