Mike has served on the Community Transit of Delaware County, Inc. Board for 15+ years, operating in many different roles, including Chairman. He is also the former President of the First Class Townships Association of Delaware County and still serves on their Executive Committee.
When asked about a community project, program, or accomplishment he's particularly proud of, Mike shared the following: "During my time as President of Ridley Area Little League (Leedom Little League), we made several upgrades to Leedom Little League Field and rebuilt the League Building," he said. "These important upgrades help protect our little leaguers and others who use these fields. We have a thriving community program for the kids and families that want to be involved. Our volunteers lead by example and exemplify a strong, positive work ethic by dedicating their time on and off the field to bring our neighborhood, families, players, and coaches together as one."
Small businesses are the heartbeat of our community, the spine of our economy, and the spirit of our towns. Mike is a proud supporter of all local businesses. He especially enjoys Little Hut Sandwich Shop and Chill Out Ice Cream & Water Ice, both conveniently located in the 6th Ward.
Mike is an avid golfer with a handicap of 8 to 11 at any given time. He also loves spending time down the shore with his three Grandchildren, Anna (6), Colin (3), and Connor (5 months).
We asked Mike for a "fun fact" that most people may not know about him: "I met my wife Debbie while we worked at Burger King in high school," he said. "She was my boss (then and now)."
Finally, what makes Mike pRoud to be from Ridley? "It's a small town with a passion for all that is homegrown, sustainable, and community-oriented."
